Home building workshop set

The Cooperative Extension Service will host a cold climate home building techniques workshop from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at the Copper Landing Community Hall.

Richard Seifert, a University of Alaska Fairbanks energy and housing specialist, will present. The cost is $20 per person for building use fee. A free manual and CD will be included with the workshop. For more information or to register, call 262-5824.

ICAN to meet

The Alaska chapter of International Cesarean Awareness Network will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Woman's Way Midwifery at 149 E Corral Street in Soldotna. Senior Olympics planned

The second annual Senior Olympic Games will be held Thursday, Friday and Saturday at a variety of locations in Kenai and Soldotna area.

Events will include walk-a-thons, pool, bowling, bridge, dominoes, darts, basketball toss, Texas hold-em poker, cribbage, pinochle, shuffle board, tripoly and hula hoops. At the end of the competition a medal awards ceremony will be held. Other events to take place are a '50s theme no-host dinner at Ginger's with a '50s attire and dance contest.
