Homer girls, boys come up empty on home court

The visiting Palmer boys edged Homer 51-50 Saturday in Northern Lights Conference action.

Kenny Jenkins had 13 points for Palmer, while Jared Berberich added 11 and Aaron Kohring had 10. For Homer, Luke Gilbert had a game-high 19 points.

Palmer girls 51, Homer 46

The host Mariners came up short on a comeback attempt Saturday and dropped a Northern Lights Conference game to the Moose.

Homer trailed 41-25 heading into the final quarter before outscoring Palmer 21-10 in the final eight minutes. Leslie Berberich paced Palmer with 15 points, while Allison Horazdovsky had 15 points for Homer and Kailee Pollack added 10.

Colony girls 53, Homer 43

The visiting Knights registered a Northern Lights Conference victory over the Mariners Friday.

Allison Horazdovsky had 15 points to lead Homer.

Colony boys 60, Homer 37

Ryan Gray and Justin Schwartzbauer each pumped in 14 points for the visiting Knights as they notched a Northern Lights Conference victory over the Mariners Friday.

Justin Smith and Luke Gilbert had 11 points for the Mariners.

Ninilchik girls 64, Tri-Valley 34

The host Wolverines cruised to a nonconference victory over the Viking Warriors Friday.

Kendra Moerlein had 14 points for Ninilchik, while Emily Wood added 13. Tri-Valley's Grace Milliken shared game-high scoring honors with 14 points.

Ninilchik boys 55, Tri-Valley 49

The host Wolverines received 16 points from Connor Cooper and 15 points from Javin Halpin in picking up a nonconference victory over the Viking Warriors.

For Tri-Valley, Conor Halloran had 15 points and Jesse Blakeway added 12 points.

Lumen Christi boys 52, Seldovia 39

The host Archangels received 18 points from Kevin McNeal to pick up a Peninsula Conference victory Friday over the Sea Otters.

Jimmie Payton paced Seldovia with 13 points.
