Marian Maxine Burger

Washington and recent Alaska resident Marian Maxine Burger died Tuesday, February 15, 2011 due to natural causes at her son's home in Kasilof. She was 91.

Family services will be held in the summer at her grandson's home. Her ashes will be scattered in the Caribou Hills at a later date.

Mrs. Burger was born June 3, 1919 to Elsie and Mabel (Black) Young in Leavenworth, Wash. Marian loved to read. She retired from teaching fourth-graders in Monroe, Wash.

Her family wrote "Mom was a loving, proud, independent woman; we will miss her greatly".

Mrs. Burger is survived by her sons Edward and wife, Sandra, Ron and wife, Sandi, and Dennis; grandsons Rhys and wife, Karen, Bryce and wife, Cris, and, Doc and wife, Johanna; granddaughters Matanya and Ashlynn; great-grandsons Brandon, Caleb, Adam and Sean; great-granddaughters Kaylee and husband Matt, Sierra and Mecaela; great-great-grandsons Oliver, Wyatt, Brian and Sheath; great-great-granddaughters Zoey, Serenity and Abby; sister, Hanna Shott; nephews, Rolly, David, and Steve; and niece, Shelly.

Arrangements were by Peninsula Memorial Chapel.
