ANCHORAGE (AP) -- A 38-year-old man died early Thursday morning after his car went out of control and he smashed into a power pole, Anchorage police report.
The victim, Scott Schnell, was alone in a Ford Escape when the accident occurred in south Anchorage shortly before 3 a.m. He was dead when officers arrived.
Speed was apparently a factor in the accident, police said.
