As a commercial truck driver based out of the greater Kenai-Soldotna area, and a resident, I am absolutely amazed at the conditions of the roadways in the Kenai-Soldotna area. They are by far the worst on the peninsula. It is amazing to me to see communities like Homer and Anchor Point and communities north of here, as well, how good they keep there roadways and highways. They have this area beat hands down and should be commended for their efforts.
They are, in fact, keeping their roads in better quality, which in turn makes it safer for those of use who are traveling these roads and have family on them.
I wonder if the roads we drive on in the Kenai-Soldotna area are maintained by someone sitting at a desk trying to make themselves look good through their budget report, or does this person take pride in the fact that he is doing the best job he can to keep the roads safe for us and our families?
As far as I am concerned, the proof is obvious, and I would take delight in knowing the comments of other residents and local taxpayers on this issue.
