Former Soldotna resident Chelsey Howard and Christopher Hudson plan to marry April 25, 2010, in a western theme ceremony at the MD resort in Aurora, Texas.
Chris proposed during a snowstorm on Dec. 24, 2009, at his parent's home in Mansfield, Texas.
The bride-to-be is the daughter of Kevin and Nancy Myers, of Kenai, and Curt Howard, of San Diego, Calif.; and granddaughter, of Jim and Betty Harris, of Soldotna. Chelsey graduated from West Hills High School in Santee, Calif., in 2005 and joined the U.S. Army. She took combat medic training immediately after graduation. She served one tour of duty as a combat medic in Iraq and now serves in the Army reserves. She is employed at the VA hospital in Temple, Texas. Chelsey plans on pursuing a degree in nursing in 2010.
The future groom is the son of Bobby and Christina Hudson, of Mansfield. Christopher graduated from Mansfield High School in 2004 and is employed by Bell Helicopter in Hurst, Texas.
