Popular weather service meteorologist Ruben Eaton dies

ANCHORAGE (AP) -- Ruben Eaton, one of Alaska's best known weather experts, died unexpectedly Sunday following surgery. He was 49.

Eaton, a National Weather Service meteorologist, was the host of ''Alaska Weather,'' a locally produced public television program. He also worked on Alaska Public Radio Network's Alaska Statewide Weather,'' which aired daily.

According to APRN, Eaton's death followed radical surgery to remove a brain tumor.
