GIRDWOOD (AP) -- The Alyeska Prince Hotel is ending its affiliation with Westin and Starwood hotels.
Alyeska officials said the 5-year franchise agreement will not be renewed when it expires at the end of this month.
Chris von Imhof, Alyeska's vice president and managing director, said Alyeska didn't get the results it had hoped from the agreement, but added the companies are parting on good terms.
Seventy-five percent of Alyeska's summer business comes from cruise ships and 75 percent of its winter customers are Alaskans, so Alyeska determined it didn't need Westin to help lure clients.
