Kaleb Isaah Madden, born Aug. 19, 2000, died at his home in Elmendorf Air Force Base on Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2001. He was 6 months and 1 day old. He was born at Central Peninsula General Hospital in Soldotna.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Peninsula Memorial Chapel in Kenai. A public viewing will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday. Officiating at the service will be Elmendorf Chaplain Moermond. A reception will be held afterward at Roland and Vicki Gagnon's home in Sterling.
"Kaleb was a very happy baby. In his short life here, he loved to be held, to eat, and a smile was always on his face," the family said. "Kaleb touched a special place in those who knew him. He had a beautiful smile for everyone. Kaleb is now smiling in God's hands."
He is survived by his father, Charles "Ashley" Madden; his mother, Mandi Jo (Gagnon) Madden; brother, Samuel Jacob Madden; grandparents, Terry and Sharon Showers of Tennessee, Roland and Vicki Gagnon (Papa and Nana) of Sterling and Chuck and Wanda Madden (Popee and Nonee) of Tennessee; his uncles and aunts, Kevin and Heidi Morrison of Homer, Josh and Ryan LeBlanc of Fairbanks, Chad LeBlanc of Anchorage, and Jamie Flowers, Janet Johnson, and Megan and Kari Madden, all of Tennessee; many cousins, great-aunts and uncles, great-grandparents, great-great-grandparents and friends.
Arrangements were by Peninsula Memorial Chapel.
