Committee volunteers Lowell Wilcox and Karen Ghering present a sign to Debbie Cary, co-owner of the Inlet View Restaurant, recognizing the community of Ninilchik as a Ducks Unlimited Community of Excellence. The award recognizes communities in Alaska that have continued to support the mission of Ducks Unlimited through grass-roots fund-raising and community events. Ninilchik has been part of a program that has delivered more than 10 million acres of wetland conservation projects nationally and conserved more than 2 million acres in the Pacific Flyway. In Alaska, Ducks Unlimited has conserved more than 3,000 acres of critical wetlands and some 160 million additional acres with global imaging satellite technology. Ninilchik Ducks Unlimited will host its annual banquet Saturday at the Inlet View Restaurant. Reservations are required. For more information, call Lowell Wilcox at (907) 567-3988 or Karen Ghering at (907) 567-7334 or 567-3988.
