Softball association seeks members

The Kenai Softball Association is accepting nominations for board members. Interested community members may log on at and submit a nomination.

Nominations close today.

Bypass group to meet

Gastric Bypass Support Group will meeting at 6:30 p.m. today at Central Peninsula Hospital in the Illiamna Room.

The meeting is for both pre- and post-operative patients.

Fishing for quality

Cook Inlet Salmon Brand Inc. will meet from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Cook Inlet Aquaculture building meeting room on Kalifornsky Beach Road. Inlet fishermen and processors are invited to plan the 2007 season and obtain information about the program. For more information, call 335-9453.

Dodge, wallyball tourneys planned

The Police Athletic League and the Boys and Girls Club will host a free dodgeball and wallyball tournament from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Kenai Recreation Center. Youth ages 10 to 18 are eligible. Pizza and beverages will be provided. For more information, call James Clark at 398-0432.

Miners dig in

Kenai Peninsula Alaska Miners Association will meet from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday in Room 108 at Kenai Peninsula Collage.

The featured speaker will be Stephen Hodgson, vice president of engineering, Northern Dynasty Mines Inc. It is open to the public.

Seniors set to sing

The Sterling Senior Center will host a Western musical production “It’s Chili in Old Texas or She Loved Franks and Beans” at 6 p.m. Saturday and at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the center.

Chili and a no-host bar will be offered Saturday. Proceeds will benefit senior activities. For more information or to purchase tickets, call 262-6808.
