FAIRBANKS (AP) -- A Fairbanks man on probation for an abuse conviction has been charged with sexually abusing an 11-year-old girl last year.
Peter C. Edwin, 34, was charged with three counts of sexual abuse of a minor. He is accused of assaulting the girl, who has since turned 12, between May and August.
According to the criminal complaint, at least two of the assaults occurred while the girl was playing a computer game at her home. Alaska State Trooper Sgt. Ron Wall said Edwin may have been a family friend.
Troopers say they initiated an investigation when they received a ''report of harm'' to the girl by the Division of Family and Youth Services. During the investigation, another man informed troopers that Edwin had told him about two assaults.
Prosecutors requested that Edwin's probation be revoked. He had been convicted in a 1995 case of attempted sexual abuse of a minor.
