Area chambers set schedule

Rob Robsen, director of Kenai Peninsula Borough Capital Projects, will speak at noon today at the Nikiski Chamber of Commerce luncheon at Ohana's Family Restaurant.

Next week's speaker will be Scott Pfoff, president of Aurora Gas LLC. He will speak about the company's Alaska operations. For more information, call Judene Van Cleave at 776-5551.

Dan Crone, with First National Bank of Alaska, will speak at the Soldotna Chamber of Commerce at noon Tuesday at the Riverside House about fraud prevention.

John Parker, with the Economic Development District, and Jack Brown, business development manager with the Kenai Peninsula Borough's Community and Economic Development Division, will give a presentation about economic development in the borough at noon Wednesday at the Kenai Chamber of Commerce luncheon at Paradisos. Nonprofit workshops to be held

The Foraker Group will offer three classes for nonprofit organizations in Soldotna on March 8 at the Kenai River Center, 514 Funny River Road. Board Roles and Responsibilities will be from 9 to 11 a.m., High Performing Boards from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and Effective Board Leadership from 2 to 4 p.m. Information on course content, fees and registration is available on the Web at or by calling Karma Tomlinson at (907) 743-1200.

Roberts honored

House Majority Leader Tom DeLay, National Republican Congressional Committee Chair Tom Reynolds and the National Republican Congressional Committee awarded Monte Roberts of Soldotna the 2004 Ronald Reagan Republican Gold Medal Award.

He was selected based on unyielding support of the Republican Party, outstanding leadership in business and for displaying a commitment to former President Ronald Reagan's vision for an entrepreneurial America.
