Arts guild to host opening

The Kenai Fine Arts Center will be host a grand reopening from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday at 816 Cook Ave. in Old Town Kenai. For more information, call 283-7040.

Martial arts class available

Co-ed martial arts classes are held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays at the Nikiski Community Recreation Center. Participants must be at least age 16, and registration is required. For more information, call Tammy Berdahl at 776-8800.

Trappers meeting set

A trappers meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the basement of the Riverside House in Soldotna. It is open to the public. For more information, call 262-1884 or 252-7171.

Solar classes set to shine

The Cooperative Extension Service-Kenai Peninsula District will hold an introduction to solar energy for Alaskans course from 1 to 5 p.m. March 3 at Kenai Peninsula College. The cost is $10 for a solar design manual. To register or for more information, call 262-5824.

Tropical stories planned

Kenai Community Library will host storyteller Alton Chung at 1 p.m. March 4 at the library. Chung will tell Hawaiian legends and tales from the islands.

Pesticide training planned

The Cooperative Extension Service office will hold a pesticide applicators training from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 8 at its office on Kalifornsky Beach Road. For more information or to register, call 262-5824.
