Comedy Club owes success to contributions of many

With over 400 in attendance, the Junkyard Comedy Club held at the Peninsula Center Mall on Sunday, Feb. 17, was a smashing success.

The audience was entertained by a great show and thoroughly enjoyed the comedy. There were no flare-ups, altercations or serious crowd control problems.

Success was due to the support and assistance of the following individuals, organizations and businesses:

Beemun's, Fred Meyer, Dairy Queen and Godfather's for their generous donations of free and discounted items for our door prizes. K-Beach Elementary, Redoubt Elementary and Central Emergency Services for the loan of their folding chairs. Jim Steffy at KCHS for the use of their risers. Mona and Coffee Concepts for letting us borrow their shaved ice

machine. Jenni Dillon and the Peninsula Clarion for their coverage of the Junkyard.

Liz and Mike Chase and their security crew, whose peaceful presence was felt everywhere. The Soldotna Police Dept. for their participation and advice on how to handle large crowds.

A huge thank you to Glen Martin, owner of the Peninsula Center Mall, and his mall manager, Jason, for providing the venue and working with us to put on a great show.

Finally, to Pastor Jim Duncan, the board and congregation of Soldotna First Assembly of God for getting behind us and supporting our vision of the Junkyard Comedy Club as an outreach to the youth of the central peninsula -- Thank you!

For the Youth of the peninsula and for Christ,

Youth Pastor Beau Hodges and the staff of the Junkyard Comedy Club
