On the central Kenai Peninsula:

In Kenai, the average residential sales price was $125,768; in Soldotna, it was $137,450.

Houses were on the market for an average of 165 days in Kenai and 103 days in Soldotna.

In Kenai and Soldotna during 2001, 135 homes were sold -- 78 in Kenai and 57 in Soldotna.

During 2000, 24,871 housing units existed in the borough with 18,438 occupied and 6,433 vacant. Vacant units included 4,560 that are for seasonal, recreational or occasional use. The homeowner vacancy rate is 2.9 percent and the rental vacancy rate is 14.4 percent.
