Job center to hold ADA seminar

The Kenai Job Center will hold an informational seminar on the Americans with Disabilities Act at 9 a.m. today at the center in the Kenai Mall. For more information, call 283-0371.

Steffy to speak at Soldotna chamber

NAMI to meet today

The National Alliance for the Mentally Ill will meet toady at 7:30 p.m. at Fort Kenai. The meeting is open to community members, friends and families who know of or are experiencing mental illness. For more information, call Scharlott at 335-0025.

District CTSO conference Friday

The Kenai Peninsula Borough School District's Career and Technical Student Organization conference will begin at 8 a.m. Friday at Kenai Peninsula College. The keynote speaker will be Nelson Amen of Tesoro.

Students from Kenai Central, Kenai Alternative, Soldotna, Nikiski, Skyview, Homer and Seward high schools will participate in workshops in the morning, followed by competitions in the afternoon. Competition categories will include job interview, prepared speech, extemporaneous speech, welding, drafting, construction, principles of technology, design, make-and-sell, culinary arts, keyboarding and business math. An awards ceremony will begin at 3 p.m.

SVHS Basketball Booster club holds meeting

The Skyview High School Basketball Booster Club Will be holding an end of year meeting, Tuesday Feb. 25 @ 6:00 PM in the commons area of the school. Agenda will include planning season-end banquet, Region tourney, and sportsmanship issues. All players, coaches, parents, and Skyview basketball fans, are encouraged to attend. CIRCAC directors to meet

Church plans Mardi Gras

Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church will host its annual Mardi Gras celebration at 6 p.m. Friday. Festivities will include live music, dancing, door prizes, a raffle and a cajun dinner. Tickets are available at the church on Spruce Street in Kenai. For more information, call 283-4555.

Ice fishing derby under way

Soldotna Trustworthy Hardware's sixth annual ice fishing derby continues through Friday. Prizes will be awarded in more than 25 divisions, including largest fish and age-group prizes. Participants must first sign up at Trustworthy Hardware, but there is no registration fee. For more information, call 262-4655.

Nutrition classes offered

Kenaitze Head Start and the Kenai Peninsula Food Bank will offer a series of free nutrition classes Mondays from 10 a.m. until noon. The classes begin next week. For more information, call Kathy or Janet at 283-0707.
