Residents have 4 more chances to catch 'My Favorite Year'

Quick! Name the musical now playing at "the Hendy" (a.k.a. the Renee C. Henderson Auditorium at Kenai Central High School). Answer: "My Favorite Year."

This wonderful production, presented by the Kenai Performers and directed by Carol Ford, has one more week to run. If you missed it this past weekend, please be sure to make plans to attend at least one of the remaining four performances. Evening shows are at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday and the Sunday finale is at 3 p.m.

"My Favorite Year" is just great! It is set in 1954 and revolves around the misadventures of the "King Kaiser" (read: Sid Caesar) TV comedy show, whose guest star, "Alan Swann," a has-been swashbuckling actor, threatens to ruin the live performance with his loose-cannon antics. A young comedy writer, Benjy Stone, is assigned to "baby-sit" the haggard star with hilarious results.

The show is superbly cast and everyone gives a great performance.

Please support the cast and crew, who have donated three months of their time (since before Thanksgiving) preparing to entertain us. See you at "the Hendy!"
