Redoubt Elementary

The school will host a special Ice Cream Friday this week to raise money for the breakfast program. Ice cream will cost $1 this Friday only.

Title I will host a kindergarten parent informational meeting from 5 to 6 p.m. Thursday. All Redoubt kindergarten parents are invited to attend. Snacks and child care will be available.

School forensics will be held Thursday and Friday.

Monday is the deadline to sponsor a page or dedicate a message in the school yearbook. Area businesses may sponsor a page for a suggested donation of $20. Relatives and friends may dedicate a message to a student or teacher for $10.

Turn Off Your TV Week begins Sunday and runs through March 6. Special evening activities for the week will be listed in Friday's newsletter.

The staff congratulates Karen Senette and Cory Carver, who will represent Alaska at the regional Elks Hoop Shoot in Portland, Ore.

Lauren Steffy was the recycling winner for the month of January, with her exact guess of 150 pounds

The staff thanks Fred Meyer for its donation of milk to the breakfast program and Soldotna Trustworthy Hardware, Safeway, Godfather's Pizza, Blockbuster Video, Subway and Pepsi for providing prizes for the perfect attendance test week.

The Postage Stamp Club meets from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Tuesdays in Mr. Ball's room. All Redoubt students are welcome. No experience is necessary. There is no fee. Students are responsible for arranging transportation home.
