Drawing, Tier I, and Tier II permit results will be released by the Alaska Department of Fish and Game today at 5 p.m.
The draw results will be posted to the ADF&G website at: http://www.adfg.alaska.gov/index.cfm?adfg=huntlicense.drawresults
A link to the Tier I and II permit results is on that same page, or go to: http://www.adfg.alaska.gov/index.cfm?adfg=huntlicense.tierresults
A link to the Drawing Hunt Results can also be found under Highlights on the ADF&G homepage at: http://www.adfg.alaska.gov/index.cfm?adfg=home.main
A winners list will be posted on the website at 5 p.m. -- please note that the names will not be available before that time.
Successful applicants will receive either their permit or a letter from the regional biologist. Only successful applicants will be notified. It is the responsibility of the hunter to contact their guide if they are a permit winner.
Not all drawing winners receive their permits in the mail. Some permits must be picked up in person from the regional office or administrative office for that hunt. Other permits require that the hunter attend an orientation or pass a shooting proficiency test. Once these objectives are met, the permit will be issued.
Tier I and II subsistence permits are available to Alaska residents only. Most drawing hunts are available to both residents and nonresidents. Drawing hunts require an application fee and are awarded by lottery. Each year, the ADF&G publishes a Draw Hunt Supplement with specific information containing the drawing hunt opportunities and area boundaries.
These are the results of the Nov. 1 - Dec. 31, 2010, Tier I and II, and draw application period.
More information on drawing hunt permits is available at: http://www.adfg.alaska.gov/index.cfm?adfg=huntlicense.drawfaqs.
Hunters with questions about the process, results or future applications can stop by Fish and Game information centers in Anchorage, Fairbanks and Douglas.
