Cook Inlet Academy girls topple Dillingham

The Cook Inlet Academy girls posted a 37-28 nonconference victory against the visiting Dillingham Wolverines Saturday at Cook Inlet Academy. Dillingham, a Class 3A school, was finishing a weekend trip that also included games against Ninilchik on Friday.

Melissa Moffis scored nine of 16 points in the second half to help the Eagles pull out the win. The Eagles scored 18 points in the fourth quarter to secure the win.

Madison McConnell pitched in eight points and Brooke Forsi scored seven points for the Eagles. Dillingham’s Tiffany Bennet scored 13 points in the losing effort.

Nikolaevsk Warrior Rumble

The Bristol Bay boys and the Lumen Christi girls won the team titles at the Nikolaevsk Warrior Rumble Saturday in Nikolaevsk.

In Saturday’s girls games, Bristol Bay, led by Jackie West with 24 points and Tiffany Edwards with 13, defeated Seldovia 47-29. Emily Haynes led the Sea Otters with nine points.

Lumen Christi defeated the host Warriors 41-35. May Henry and Krystal Suemai each scored 10 points for the Archangels while Tisa Kuzmin led Nikolaevsk with 11 points.

In Saturday’s boys games, Bristol Bay defeated Seldovia 72-57. Mason King scored 26 and Brycin Pacheco netted 15 for the Angels and Levi West-Harkness scored 26 for the Sea Otters.

The Lumen Christi boys defeated Nikolaevsk 36-29. Matt Hudlow scored 21 for the Archangels and Eric Tutt led the Warriors with 11 points.

In Friday’s boys games, Seldovia got 28 points from West-Harkness to defeat Nikolaevsk 65-50. Joel Tutt scored 15 and Eric Tutt netted 14 for the Warriors.

The Bristol Bay boys, led by Mason King’s 23 points and Dustin Wilson’s 22 points, defeated Nikolaevsk 65-30. Paul Barras scored 21 for the Warriors.

In Friday’s girls games, Nikolaevsk defeated Seldovia 54-35. Kuzmin scored 14 and Efrosia Yakunin and Lekonida Yakunin each netted 12 for the Warriors while Naomi Gallien led the Sea Otters with 14 points.

Lumen Christi defeated Bristol Bay 67-63. Nikelle Kruger scored 22, Kara McNeal netted 14 and Henry scored 13 for the Archangels. Nena Smith scored 18 and Tiffany Edwards scored 16 for the Angels.

Seward girls 45, Heritage Christian 44

The Seahawks picked up a Southcentral Conference victory over the Eagles Saturday in Seward.

Siri Gillespie had 14 points to pace the Seahawks, while Juno Prochazka added 12 points for Seward. Anna Simmers paced the Eagles with 19 points.

Grace Christian girls 47, Seward 38

Katelyn Perry had 21 points and Rachel Walls added 13 Friday as the Grizzlies picked up a Southcentral Conference victory in Seward. Juno Prochazka had 10 points for Seward.

Dillingham boys 50, Cook Inlet Academy 34

The visiting Dillingham Wolverines outscored the Eagles 14-2 in the fourth quarter to pick up a nonconference win Saturday at Cook Inlet Academy.

Wassillie Tilden scored 18 points to lead the Wolverines. James Libert led CIA with 12 points and Jeremy Franchino added eight points.

Heritage Christian boys 94, Seward 56

The Eagles had 11 3-pointers in picking up a Southcentral Conference victory Saturday in Seward.

Trenton Millar had 26 points, Thomas Millar had 20 points, Lonnie Ridgeway had 15 points and Dylan Theis had 13 points for Heritage. For Seward, Brandon O’Brikis, Isaac Elhard and Billy Beck each had 12 points, while Isaac Swiderski had 10 points.

Dillingham boys 73, Ninilchik 66

The Ninilchik Wolverines kept it close the entire game, but fell short in the end, dropping a 73-66 nonconference game to the visiting Wolverines Friday at Ninilchik.

Wassillie Tilden poured in 30 points to lead Dillingham.

Ninilchik was paced by Jesse Leman’s 23 points. Austin Vanderford scored 18 points, Mike Skrypjk scored 11 points, and Deonte Powe added 10 points for Ninilchik.

Grace Christian boys 54, Seward 49

Lou Karlberg had 16 points, Kellan Moll had 14 points and Leif Karlberg had 12 points on Friday as the Grizzlies notched a Southcentral Conference victory in Seward.

For the Seahawks, Corey Hetrick had 16 points and Coty Beck had 14 points.
