Students presented at luncheon

The Greater Soldotna Chamber of Commerce will hold its weekly luncheon at noon today at the Riverside House. Paul Gray, with "Exploring Alaska," will be the guest speaker. Also, February students of the month from Skyview High, Soldotna High and Soldotna Middle schools will be presented. For more information, call 262-9814.

Book club to meet today

The members of the Kenai Community Library Book Club will meet at 7 p.m. today in the library conference room for a discussion of "The Long Walk: The True Story of a Trek to Freedom," by Slavomir Rawicz.

Chorus members needed

The Soldotna Community Chorus is looking for members. The chorus meets Tuesdays in the Soldotna Middle School music room. The children's chorus meets from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. with adults meeting from 8 to 9 p.m. No experience necessary; beginners are welcome. The choruses are sponsored by Soldotna Community Schools. Gold prospectors to meet Thursday

The Gold Prospectors Association of America will hold its meeting at the Kenai Moose Lodge at 7 p.m. Thursday. The meeting is open to the public. For more information, call Roy at 252-6542.

Purim party planned

The Messianic Fellowship of Kenai will hold a Purim Party, the feast of Esther, Friday at the Sears Elementary School gym from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The party is free and guests are urged to come in costume. Donations will be accepted for local charities. For more information, call Lynda at 283-6421.

Talent show planned in Nikiski

The annual Nikiski Talent Show will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Nikiski High School Auditorium. Talent of all ages will be presented. Admission is $6 for adults, $4 for students and seniors or $18 per family. All proceeds benefit the Nikiski High music program.

Booth space available for upcoming bazaar

The Nikiski Senior Center is gearing up for its annual spring bazaar and bake sale in April. Tables are available for rent for $10 per day; the deadline to sign up is March 15. For more information, call 776-7654.

Forum held to discuss tobacco use

The Tobacco Control Alliance of the Peninsula will sponsor a peninsulawide community forum at 7 p.m. March 16 at Skyview High School. The forum will discuss issues relating to tobacco use and clean indoor air. The forum is open to the public. For more information, call Patti at 260-3682.
