KETCHIKAN (AP) -- Two Ketchikan utility workers are scheduled to be arraigned Thursday on child pornography charges.
Lonnie Dunkin Junior, 47, and Patrick Durkin, 43, were charged last week after an investigation that lasted more than a year.
Dunkin is charged with 33 felony counts, including 21 of distribution, 11 of possession and one count of evidence tampering, said police Chief Grant Sirevog. Durkin is charged with eight counts of possession.
Sirevog said the investigation began in November 2000, when police were tipped off that pornography had been seen on a computer at the Ketchikan Public Utilities power plant. The two men are KPU employees and work at the plant.
Police said they found images of child pornography on the KPU computer and eventually served search warrants at the two men's homes.
Karl Amylon, city manager and manager of KPU, said the two men are still employed with KPU and are not on suspension. An internal review is under way.
