How does President Bush stack up?

It is very interesting to watch the Democrats attempt to attack the present administration. It is also interesting to note that the Democrats don't seem to have a platform or any actual plan for the United States. All they seem to be able to do is attack the current administration.

Let's look at the record of Democratic accomplishments in the recent past. Maybe we can put things into perspective or we can simply bury our heads in the sand and pretend these are refutable facts.

Liberals claim President Bush shouldn't have started the war on terrorism. They complain about his prosecution of it. One liberal recently claimed Bush was the worst president in U.S. history. Let's clear up one point. We didn't start the war on terror. Try to remember, it was started by terrorists on Sept. 11, 2001.

Let's look at the "worst" president and mismanagement claims.

FDR led us into World War II. Germany never attacked us; Japan did. From 1941 to 1945, 450,000 lives were lost, an average of 112,500 per year.

Truman finished that war and started another one in Korea. North Korea never attacked us. From 1950 to 1953, 55,000 lives were lost, an average of 18,333 per year.

John F. Kennedy started the Vietnam conflict in 1962. Vietnam never attacked us. Johnson turned Vietnam into a quagmire. From 1965 to 1975, 58,000 lives were lost, an average of 5,800 per year.

Clinton went to war in Bosnia without U.N. or French consent. Bosnia never attacked us. Clinton was offered Osama Bin Laden's head on a platter three times by Sudan and did nothing. Bin Laden has bragged about attacking us on at least three occasions.

Clinton forced Israel to let Mohammed Atta go free. Terrorist pilot Mohammed Atta blew up a bus in Israel in 1986. The Israelis captured, tried and imprisoned him. As part of the Oslo agreement with the Palestinians in 1993, Israel had to agree to release so-called "political prisoners." However, the Israelis would not release any with blood on their hands.

The American president at the time, Bill Clinton, and his Secretary of State, Warren Christopher, "insisted" that all prisoners be released. Thus Mohammed Atta was freed and eventually thanked the U.S. by flying an airplane into Tower One of the World Trade Center.

This was reported by many of the American TV networks when the terrorists were first identified. It was censored in the U.S. from all later reports. Why shouldn't Americans know the real truth?

In the two years since terrorists attacked the United States, President Bush has liberated two countries, crushed the Taliban, crippled al-Qaida and put nuclear inspectors in Libya, Iran and North Korea without firing a shot. He has also captured a terrorist who slaughtered 300,000 of his own people.

In these two years, we have lost 600 soldiers an average of 300 per year. Bush did all this abroad without allowing another terrorist attack at home.

Worst president in history? Come on!
