William Peter (Pete) Bowman
Kenai resident William Peter "Pete" Bowman died Saturday, Feb. 19, 2005, at his home. He was 43.
A memorial service was held Friday, Feb. 25, 2005, at Peninsula Memorial Chapel in Kenai.
Mr. Bowman was born April 17, 1961, in Anchorage. He received his education there. He served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1980-84. He was on the premiere around-the-world voyage of the USS Carl Vinson.
Mr. Bowman lived in Anchorage, Soldotna and Kenai. He worked as a cook and fisherman.
He enjoyed camping, fishing, jewelry making, cooking and spending time with his family.
"He was a spiritual man, devoted husband and father. He was hard working and determined. He was a very gentle man, kind and would help anyone who asked. He also looked for ways to help others," the family said.
Mr. Bowman was preceded in death by his grandparents.
He is survived by his wife, Patti of Kenai; stepdaughter, Jaclyn Hall of Kenai; mother and stepfather, Carlene and Will Knoppe of Anchorage; father and stepmother, William and Patty Bowman of Columbus, Ohio; sisters and brothers-in-law, Stephanie Bowman and Dave Bean of Wenatchee, Wash., Pamela and Richard Baltzer of Homer and Kristi Knoppe of Anchorage; brothers and sister-in-law, Courtland and Cheri Bowman of Columbus and James Knoppe of Anchorage; nieces and nephews, Alex and Alicia Bean of Wenatchee, Joshua Brow, Eva Brow and Samantha Brow, all of Anchorage, Nonah Baltzer of Homer, and Leland, Jonathan, William and Ethan Bowman, all of Columbus.
Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
