Area students named to dean’s list
· Former Soldotna resident Shiloh A. Schlung was named to the dean’s list at Boston University.
· Former Soldotna resident Katy Panko-ski was named to the dean’s list at the University of Northern Colorado. She had a grade point average of 4.0 and was honored at the schools “Next Scholars” ceremony.
· Former Soldotna resident AriAnna Corinne Goldstein was named to the dean’s list at the University of Nebraska Lincoln. She is a freshman studying biochemistry.
Borough clerk Sherry Biggs was accepted as a member in the Master Municipal Clerk Academy program of the International Institute of Municipal Clerks.
To become a member a person must have attained the Certified Municipal Clerk Award, attend a minimum of 36 hours of graduate courses at an International Institute of Municipal Clerks academy, shown leadership in national and state associations, attended seminars and conferences and had professional writings published.
Knight performs in concert
Former Soldotna resident Lindsey Knight recently performed in Beloit College’s student musical dance production of “I’ll Be.”
The concert featured dances that were created by students and faculty members.
Stalnik becomes ADS scholar
Former Soldotna resident Matthew Stalnik recognized as an Upper Iowa University athletic department student scholar recently. The group included student-athletes, team managers, student assistant coaches, spirit squad performers and student athletic trainers.
To be considered a scholar student athlete, the student must have earned a minimum 3.0 grade point average during the semester.
Stalnik played for the Peacock men’s soccer team.
He is the son of Angela Gibson and Thomas Stalnik and Skyview High School graduate. Stalnik is freshman is majoring in Social Science.
