Nikiski Senior Center plans bingo, brunch

Bingo will be held on Saturday, March 5 at the Nikiski Senior Center on Island Lake Road. Doors open at 4 p.m., play starts at 5 p.m. You must be 19 to play. There will be a limited snack bar. All cash prizes plus a door prize of 25,000 Alaska Air miles. Bingo packets ($20 ) may be pre-purchased (Monday-Friday, 9-4) if unable to attend. This will guarantee your name in the door prize drawing.

Sunday brunch will be served on March 6 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Both a breakfast menu and lunch menu will beoffered and includes drinks. Adults are $15, children 4-10 are $8, kids under 3 eat free.

Garden club loves compost

The Central Peninsula Garden Club meeting March 1, at 7 p.m., features "Men Who Compost ... (and the worms who love them)!"

A panel of experienced gardeners and composter guys will share their methods of successful composting. The meeting is at the Cook Inlet Aquaculture Building on K-Beach Road, between KSRM and the Bridge Access Road intersection. Refreshments will be served and there might be door prizes.

The meeting is open to the public. Membership costs $20 for a single and $30 for a couple or family.

School district plans budget meeting

The Kenai Peninsula Borough School District is holding a public budget meeting on Tuesday, March 1, at 6 p.m. in the Soldotna High School library. Everyone interested is encouraged to attend.

Kenai Middle assistant principal interviews slated

Interviews for the new assistant principal at Kenai Middle School will be held on Wednesday, March 2, at 4:30 p.m. They will be held in the KMS Library.
