JUNEAU (AP) -- The state House passed a bill Wednesday to fix a mistake in a school construction funding package the Legislature approved last year.
Last year's legislation provided partial state reimbursement to communities that approve bonds to pay for certain school projects, but the law inadvertently left out projects voters approved before the bill passed. That left Anchorage and the Northwest Arctic Borough ineligible for money the Legislature had intended them to have, said Rep. Eldon Mulder, R-Anchorage.
''It's simply a correction of what we thought we had approved last year,'' Mulder said.
Democrats agreed the bill was simply a technical fix to last year's law, and the measure passed the House unanimously.
