Kenai chamber luncheon set for noon
Harry Lockwood of the Kenai Peninsula Job Service and Brigita Windisch of the Alaska Department of Labor will be the guest speakers at today's Kenai Chamber of Commerce noon luncheon meeting. The luncheon will be held at the Old Town Village Restaurant and is open to the public.

Superintendent of schools to speak
Donna Peterson, the Kenai Peninsula Borough School District superintendent, will be the guest speaker at today's Anchor Point Chamber of Commerce meeting which starts at noon. Peterson will address the school budget for the upcoming fiscal year, the future of Chapman School and will be available to answer questions from the floor. The luncheon will be held at the Anchor River Inn and is open to the public.

Nikiski Senior Center to host speakers
The Nikiski Senior Center will have Jennifer Beckman and Kirsten Lambert from the Central Area Rural Transit System as guest speakers today at 12:30 p.m. The two speakers will discuss CARTS and how the community of Nikiski can take advantage of the service.

Tourism, Internet marketing seminar offered
The Small Business Development Center and the Kenai Convention and Visitors Bureau will sponsor a three-hour Tourism and Internet Marketing seminar today from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Kenai Visitors and Cultural Center. Oil and gas exploration project to be discussed
In cooperation with Gas-Pro Alaska, the state of Alaska is sponsoring a public meeting to discuss a proposed oil and gas exploration project located about 12 miles east of Anchor Point. The meeting will be held at the Chapman Middle School library today from 5 to 6:30 p.m.

New Young Marines boot camp planned
A new Unit boot camp for the Arctic Young Marines is starting March 31. The boot camp will be held at the American Legion in Kenai every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Drill will be held at the American Legion every other Saturday at the same time starting Saturday.

Kenai, Soldotna class of 1981 planning reunion
Graduates are being sought from the Kenai-Soldotna class of 1981 for a class reunion. Volunteers are needed to help plan. The next meeting is Saturday at noon at Paradisos.

Blood Bank celebrates anniversary on peninsula
Blood Bank of Alaska's Kenai Peninsula Center will celebrate its two-year anniversary with an open house on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The public is invited.
The open house will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday and from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. The center is located upstairs in the Soldotna Blazy Mall.
There will be refreshments and a variety of door prizes. In addition, people who donate blood during March will be given a coupon good for a free bowl of soup, croissant and beverage at Le Croissant Shop.
Torgerson, Lancaster to hold legislative meeting
Sen. John Torgerson, R-Kasilof, and Rep. Ken Lancaster, R-Soldotna, will have a legislative town meeting from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Soldotna City Hall chambers, 177 N. Birch St., Soldotna. The public is invited to attend and visit with their Senate District D and House District 8 legislators.

Workshop on online resources to be offered
Gail Junion-Metz, columnist of "The Librarian's Internet," will present a workshop on online resources and effective searching from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at Soldotna High School library. A one-hour graduate credit is available for $60, which is payable at the workshop.
Lunch will be provided.
