ANCHORAGE (AP) -- Dan Cuddy, chairman and president of First National Bank of Alaska, has been the 2002 Alaskan of the Year.
Cuddy was selected by a group of more than 60 business and community leaders from across the state.
Cuddy, who was born in Valdez in 1921, took over the family-owned business in 1951 when his father died. Under his leadership, the bank became the largest Alaskan-owned, statewide bank with assets of $1.8 billion dollars. He will be honored at a banquet March 23 in Anchorage.
