ANCHORAGE (AP) -- Alaska taxpayers who did not file a tax return in 1998 have until April 15 to apply for their unclaimed funds.
The Internal Revenue Service says nationwide there are $3.2 billion in unclaimed funds. Alaska's share is $11,838. The IRS will not penalize anyone for a return that qualifies for a refund.
According to the IRS, 8,300 Alaskans who didn't file are due money back.
