GCI increases involvement along Iditarod trail

GCI will provide live Web cams and Internet access at most checkpoints for mushers, media and veterinarians to communicate from checkpoints. GCI employees are sponsoring the Cripple checkpoint and will be responsible for setting up communications.

ProComm Alaska offers radio frequency (RF) classes

ProComm Alaska, the only Motorola authorized radio system specialist in Alaska, now offers Radio Frequency Radiation Safety Awareness classes. ProComm is the only in-state provider of this service. The next Anchorage class will be Tuesday at the Millennium Hotel.

OSHA requires anyone who could have contact with RF to have training under the Hazard Communications or Right-to-Know and General Duty provisions.
