Advisory committee meeting canceled

The Kenai-Soldotna Fish and Game advisory committee meeting scheduled for today has been canceled. For more information, call 283-9447.

Art show opens Saturday

There will be a juror's critique and artists' reception, open to the public, for the opening of the Kenai Fine Arts Center's juried art exhibition at 7 p.m. Saturday at the center, 816 Cook Ave. in Kenai. The juror is abstract artist Graham Dane from Anchorage.

Women's sobriety group to meet

Women for Sobriety will meet Monday at the Women's Resource and Crisis Center in Kenai. This self-help recovery group will meet each Monday from 6:30 until 8 p.m. The group is separate from the AA program, but participants can incorporate both programs into their recovery. Historical society board to meet

The Soldotna Historical Society board of directors will meet March 8 at 9 a.m. at River City Books in Soldotna. The public is welcome to attend. Following the meeting, a tour of the new lighting project at the museum on Centennial Road will be conducted. For more information, call 262-4157.

Soccer club to hold tryouts

The Kenai Peninsula Soccer Club will hold tryouts for its competitive soccer trams March 28 and 29. Registration forms may be picked up at Red Line Sports, the Soldotna Public Library, Kenai Recreation Center and HiSpeed Gear. Guitar classes offered

The Boys and Girls Clubs of the Kenai Peninsula will offer a beginning guitar class March 24 at the Kenai clubhouse. Participants must be between the ages of 9 and 18. Dustin Aaronson will instruct the class, which will meet Mondays from 6:15 until 7:30 p.m. The cost is $50 for six classes. Registration will be taken until March 19, or until the 15-student limit is met. Participants do not have to have their own guitars, but participants must reserve guitars in advance.
