The Nikiski Pool is taking registration for the Idita-Swim competition. Competitors can swim or water-walk their way to Nome by converting laps into miles.
Prizes will be awarded along the way. The registration fee of $20 includes a T-shirt. The competition starts Tuesday.

The La Leche League of Soldotna and Kenai will meet from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. the first Tuesday of the month at the Frontier Community Services Playroom in the Red Diamond Center on Kalifornsky Beach Road.
The league is a breastfeeding resource group that offers free monthly meetings, mother-to-mother breastfeeding support, telephone assistance and a lending library.
Pregnant and breastfeeding mothers are invited to attend. Babies are welcome.
