ANCHORAGE (AP) -- A 5-year-old child died Friday afternoon after the car she was riding in rolled over on the Parks Highway.

Alaska State Troopers say Kristin Maddux was critically injured just after 3 p.m. when the 1983 Subaru station wagon she was riding in veered off the road near Mile 47, hit a driveway and rolled three times. The child was declared dead at Valley Hospital.

The victim's mother, Shelly Maddux, 29, was driving. She was treated for injuries and released.

Also in the car were 3-year-old Celine Maddux and 33-year-old Bruce Tice. Tice was reported in serious but stable condition and undergoing surgery. Celine Maddux was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Troopers said no one in the Subaru was wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.
