Shanon Hardy and Eldon B. Hamrick Jr. of Soldotna were married Jan. 26, 2002, at Christ Lutheran Church in Soldotna. Pastor Randy Parshall officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Joe and Billie Hardy of Soldotna. She wore an antique ivory, floor-length gown with sequin and pearl details and a veil accented with pearls. She carried a bouquet of peach and cream roses with cascading ivy.
The maid of honor was Tami Schweitzer of California, and the bridesmaid was Beverlie Cox of North Kenai. Both wore hunter green floor-length gowns draped with cream-colored scarves. They carried bouquets of peach roses. The flower girl was Morgan Lancaster, daughter of the bride. She wore an antique white, tea-length dress and ballet slippers and carried a basket of rose petals.
The groom is the son of Eldon Sr. and Kim Hamrick of Sterling.
The best man was John Vinzant of Soldotna, and the groomsman was Chance Schweitzer of California. The ring bearer was Hunter Hamrick, son of the groom.
Musical selections included "Just The Way You Are," by Shania Twain, performed by Robin Sullens.
Out-of-town guests included Scott and Pamela Hardy and their three children, Jordon, Amberle and Sydni, from Washington. Scott boarded a plane a few hours after returning from a tour of duty on the USS Carl Vinson to attend the wedding.
A reception was held at the Soldotna Sports Center. The three-tiered cake was white with almond cream cheese filling and accented with fresh flowers. The couple also had a tuxedo-shaped groom's cake.
Shanon is a 1993 graduate of Skyview High School and is the composition supervisor at the Peninsula Clarion.
Eldon is a 1985 graduate of Kenai Central High School and is an equipment operator at Pearse Construction.
A honeymoon is planned for a later date. The couple is making their home in Soldotna.
