Kindergarten students in Mrs. Overturf's class are learning about the water cycle and clouds. The three types of clouds they will be graphing over the month are cumulus, stratus and cirrus. Mrs. Overturf is looking for a small aquarium. She is considering a new pet anole for the classroom.
The staff would like to thank Mrs. Overturf's class for leading the Pledge of Allegiance and singing at the all-school assembly.
Mrs. Larned's class presented the puppet show "Three Billy Goats Gruff" at the school assembly. Each student helped with the production and worked as a reader, puppeteer, scenery painter, announcer, sound effects person or puppet creator. Anton played the ukele and sang with his father and brother at the assembly.
The staff would like to thank Mrs. Lehtinen, who shared information about Japan, and Mr. and Mrs. Cho for talking to the class about Korea. The students were interested in the differences and similarities between America and other countries. It was fun to learn about the schools in Korea and Japan.
Sisters Noelle and Vienna Schmitter-Schrier in Mrs. Sotello's class performed several musical selections with their violins at the school assembly. The staff and students would like to thank them for their performance.
Mrs. Sotello's class has hosted a rock festival for the other classrooms. The students are learning so much about rocks, fossils and classification.
