The staff would like to congratulate Anna Krismer, Manu Leppert, Rachael Uponen, Jon Sanchez, Kayla Kiech, Maddie Moore, Adam DeMello and Hannah Watkins, who represented the school in the ASAA State World Languages Declamation Contest in Anchorage on Feb. 21. It was the first time in 10 years a Kenai Peninsula team has participated. The following medals were awarded: Krismer first place, French three poetry; Leppert second place, French five poetry and French five impromptu speaking; Uponen second place, Spanish four cultural trivia and Spanish four impromptu speaking; Krismer and Leppert third place, Spanish two improvisational dialogue; and DeMello third place, Spanish one impromptu speaking.
The annual band spaghetti dinner will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
The hockey awards banquet will begin at 7 p.m. March 11 in the cafeteria.
KCHS would like to congratulate Elena Bird and Lydia Link, who will sing in the 110-voice ACDA Women's Honor Choir, and Ryan Dykowitz, Sovala Kisena and Adam Nath, who will sing in the 110-voice ACDA Men's Honor Choir in Boise, Idaho, this week. Audrey Coon is an alternate. Kenai Central has never participated in the ACDA Honor Choir's before this year.
