Area chambers set schedules

Scott Pfoff, president of Aurora Gas LLC, will speak at noon today at the Nikiski Chamber of Commerce luncheon at Ohana's Family Restaurant.

Next week's speakers will be Merrill Sikorski, organizer of Caring for the Kenai and 2004 contest winner Marit Hartvigson. They will give a presentation about the program. For more information, call Judene Van Cleave at 776-5551.

Nonprofit workshops to be held

The Foraker Group will offer three classes for nonprofit organizations in Soldotna on Tuesday at the Kenai River Center, 514 Funny River Road. Board Roles and Responsibilities will be from 9 to 11 a.m., High Performing Boards from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and Effective Board Leadership from 2 to 4 p.m. Information on course content, fees and registration is available at or by calling Karma Tomlinson at (907) 743-1200.

Job center to host workshop

The Peninsula Job Center will host a workshop giving an overview of the Alaska labor market from 8 to 11:45 a.m. March 10 at the Challenger Learning Center of Alaska. The topics will be economic trends, occupational outlook and resource overview. Participants in understanding how economic data can empower people to deal with changing labor market situations.
