Efforts for seniors go a long way

Posted: Friday, March 03, 2006

On behalf of present and future members of the Sterling Senior Center, we want to express a heartfelt thank you to the seniors of Sterling who conceived, planned and performed in the fundraising effort called “South Pacific in Sterling” on Feb. 18.

The program included hula dancers, music and skits leading to the really incredible performances by our seniors and others from around the Kenai Peninsula and even as far away as Washington state.

A roast pork dinner followed the show and included fresh pineapple brought directly from Hawaii by a couple of our Sterling seniors.

Not only were the performances and dinner first class, our kitchen remodel effort has been assisted a lot by the good folks who bought tickets and donated to this effort. It’s not possible to list here each of the wonderful people who helped, but please know that your community-minded efforts are recognized in the spirit you gave those efforts.
