Budget survey deadline today

The Kenai Peninsula Borough School District budget survey is available at www.kpbsd.k12.ak.us or paper copies are available by calling Lassie Nelson at 714-8838.

The deadline to complete the survey is today.

Solar classes set to shine

The Cooperative Extension Services-Kenai Peninsula District will hold an introduction to solar energy for Alaskans course from 1 to 5 p.m. today at Kenai Peninsula College.

The cost is $10 for a solar design manual.

Historical Society to meet

The Soldotna Historical Society board of directors will meet at 9 a.m. Saturday at River City Books in Soldotna. It is open to the public.

Tropical stories planned

Kenai Community Library will host storyteller Alton Chung at 1 p.m. Saturday at the library.

Chung will tell Hawaiian legends and tales from the islands.

Special services set

The Sterling United Pentecostal Church will host a music and message night at 6 p.m. Saturday at the church on Swanson River Road. Area evangelist Greg Glover will be the featured speaker. Musical selections also will be performed.
