Good day to all of my Nikiski neighbors.

Congratulations to the Nikiski Senior Citizens Center for winning the traveling trophy for the most overall medals during the recent Senior Olympics held on the peninsula. A total of 37 seniors competed in the games. What a great way to meet other seniors and get active during a very cold time of year.

The aroma of cinnamon rolls filled the Nikiski North Star hallways during Mrs. Matson's class fundraiser. The class worked hard on the project and they produced a great tasting delight for many in the community.

The Weight Watchers Program will be held at 4 p.m. today at the ementary school. Call Sharon at 262-7534 for more information.

The Nikiski Senior Service Area monthly board meeting will be held at 5 p.m. March 11 at the Nikiski Senior Center. The meetings are open to the public.

The Nikiski Senior Citizen's Inc. monthly board meeting will be held at 1 p.m. March 12 at the Nikiski Senior Center. Public comment starts at 12:45 p.m.

An evening at the arts will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at Nikiski North Star Elementary. Activities will celebrate music in the schools month. For more information, call 776-5575.

A game night will be held at 6 p.m. Friday at the Nikiski Senior Center. For more information, call 776-7654.

The American Legion in Kenai will hold an Easter dinner at 5 p.m. March 13 for senior citizens. Nikiski seniors need to sign up at the center by Saturday.

The Lion's St. Patrick's Day dinner will be held March 17. For more information, call 776-7654.

An Easter breakfast will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 23 the Nikiski Senior Center. An egg hunt will begin at 1:30 p.m. at the center.

The North Peninsula Recreation Service Area will hold a monthly board meeting at 7 p.m. March 25 at the Nikiski pool.

The Nikiski Senior Center will hold a spring bazaar April 3, 4 and 5. For information about renting a space, call 776-7654.

The Nikiski North Star fourth- and fifth-graders will perform their version of "High School Musical" on April 15. The group has been working to bring the Disney Channel favorite to life for the community.
