PFD filing help today

The Permanent Fund Dividend filing deadline is March 31. The Kenai Legislative Information Office is offering help with online filing from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. today. Public computers will be available and/or staff will be available to assist. The LIO is located at 145 Main St Lp Ste 217, Kenai, in the old Kenai Courthouse next to library. Boy Scout leaders to meet

The Tustumena District of the Great Alaska Council, Boy Scouts of America will hold a District Committee meeting and Round Table today. The Committee meeting starts at 6 p.m. and the Round Table begins at 7 p.m. at the Cook Inlet Aquaculture Association on Kalifornsky Beach Road.

Topics to be discussed are merit badge counselors, the new Cub Scout 2010 program and training opportunities. For more information, call 283-1699.

Social media to be discussed

Guest lecturer Pegge Bernecker, author, editor, and local expert on social media, will speak on Saturday from 2 to 3 p.m. at Kenai Peninsula College room No. 158, about the significance of social media. A how-to workshop will follow from 3 to 4 p.m. The cost is $5 admission for community members, free admission with a valid University of Alaska ID card. Proceeds from seminar will go to the Kenai River Campus Student Union scholarship fund. For more information, call Kathy Cox at 262-0339.

Making, using cloth diapers

The Cooperative Extension Service is offering a free class to demonstrate how to make and use cloth diapers. The class will be held Monday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Cooperative Extension Service office. Pre-registration by Monday is requested. Pancake fundraiser slated

The local Slikok Grange is sponsoring a pancake breakfast Sunday from 9 a.m. to noon at the Eagles Aerie 35255 Club on the Kenai Spur Highway. The charge will be $5 per adult $2.50 per child over 4 years old (free 4-years-old and under), or families for $20. Call 335-2008 with any questions.

Fried chicken dinner set to dish

The Sterling Senior Center is hosting a southern fried chicken dinner on Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m. The menu will include the tasty fried chicken, potato salad, baked beans, rolls, and bread pudding. The cost is $12.50 for adults and $6.25 for children under 10 years. Call 262-6808 for more information and to sign up.
