Village Fair safety check

Posted: Sunday, March 05, 2000

Verna Nelson and her daughter Sherina listen as Jane Fellman, describes the proper way to install a child's car seat in Nelson's vehicle during the Village Fair at Kenai Central High School Saturday afternoon. The Kenai Peninsula Safe Kids Coalition used the fair as an opportunity to debut a new van that General Motors donated to the group's statewide organization for use in teaching parents how to safely transport their children. Fellman said that parents are welcome to call Safe Kids at Central Peninsula General Hospital for information about their own child seats and said that the group would use the van at other inspections across the peninsula. The Village Fair offered many other health-related booths and demonstrations.
