Ninilchik girls top Nenana

The Ninilchik girls, the top-ranked team in Class 2A, overcame a 24-11 halftime deficit Thursday night to defeat Nenana 40-32 in nonconference action at Ninilchik.

Kendra Moerlein had 14 points to lead the Wolverines, while Sally Wassillie had 12 points for the Lynx.

The Wolverines overcame a slow start for a nonconference victory Thursday in Ninilchik.

Ninilchik trailed by two points after the first quarter, but took control by outscoring the Lynx 18-1 in the second quarter. Conner Cooper led the Wolverines with 20 points. Charles Pullium added 11 points for Ninilchik.
