KPC appreciation easy to read

Letters to the Editor

Posted: Monday, March 05, 2007

Because of a generous donation from the Kenai River Rotary Club, the Read to Your Baby project is able to continue. A Read to Your Baby bag is distributed through Central Peninsula Hospital for all new parents, with information on the importance of reading to the growth and development of young minds.

Included in the bags are brochures that have reading guides for parents, a “Family Reading Center” bib, a board book and bookmarks. On the back of each board book, the Kenai River Rotary Club is listed as a contributor to the project.

This local project has been a part of Kenai Peninsula College’s Family Reading Center for over a dozen years. As an accredited affiliate of ProLiteracy Worldwide, KPC’s literacy program helps people daily, in our own community, to improve their lives and the lives of their families. Thanks so much to Kenai River Rotary for their support.
