Learn the Korean alphabet
Andy Veh will instruct. Participants will learn how to read and write Korean alphabet. (Note: except for a few words, participants will not learn Korean.) The class will be held from 7 p.m. to 9:45 p.m. in room 145 at the Kenai Peninsula College. There is no fee. It is open to all ages.
Living with, caring for a life-threatening illness
Marquitta Andrus, Gail Simons and Mary Jensen with Hospice of the Central Peninsula will instruct. The class will provide guidelines to help those with life-threatening illnesses and their caregivers from 7 to 9 p.m. in the library at Soldotna Middle School. The topics will be anticipatory grief and other emotional stages. There is no fee. This class is for adults only.
Kate Veh will instruct. The topics will be an overview of the adoption process, what to look for in an adoption agency, the federal adoption tax credit, costs, age requirements of prospective parents and the requirements of foreign countries who participate in international adoption and the general sequence of events one can expect in the adoption process. The class will be held from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. in the Soldotna Middle School library. There is no fee. It is for adults only.
Rx for burnout
Dr. Kathleen Dinius, Ph.D., licensed psychologist will instruct. The topics will be causes of and remedies for burnout, including: situational life stressors, workload and work stress, expectations and demands, interpersonal relationships and managing emotions.
The class will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. in the library at Soldotna Middle School. For teens and adults. The cost is $15 per person.
