Posted: Wednesday, March 06, 2002

A driver who said he was blinded by the sun was the focal point of a collision with a school bus and another vehicle near the intersection of Reflection Lake Road and teh Sterling Highway at 2:47 p.m. Tuesday.

Three people were taken to the hospital, but none of the students on the bus was injured.

The driver who allegedly caused the accident told Central Emergency Services personnel that he did not see the bus because the sun had blinded him. He suffered a lacerated knee and was one of the three taken to the hospital.

The other vehicle, a three-quarter ton passenger van, was driven by a 53-year-old woman. She suffered a broken leg; her passenger, an 11-year-old boy, suffered a minor neck injury. Both of them were transported to the hospital.
