Mucha takes 12th in Junior Olympics sprint

Soldotna freshman Kailey Mucha finished 12th in the Junior 2 girls freestyle sprint on Monday at the Junior Nationals in Soldier Hollow, Utah.

Also from the peninsula, Kenai Central’s Christopher Hall was 34th in the men’s Older Junior sprint, Skyview’s Erick Romig was 41st in the Junior 1 sprint and Homer’s Erika Klaar was 38th in the Junior 1 sprint.

After the first day of the competition, Team Alaska is in third place behind Intermountain and New England.
