Can-do spirit helps food bank

Posted: Thursday, March 06, 2008

Delightful slides, dancing, dollars and donations. We got it all with the recent "South Africa: A World in One Country" event at the Kenai Visitors and Cultural Center. Thank you to Greg and Jan Daniels for taking us with them around the world and for their generosity in requesting that the admission be a donation to the Kenai Peninsula Food Bank in the form of high protein food or a monetary donation.

Thank you, also, to Sharon Rogers, Barb Sandahl and Joy Ward, who helped feed us on our safari with the Daniels, and to Sue Carter and her crew at KVCC, our most gracious hosts for this event.

Everyone worked together and many of our local residents will benefit as a result, as they eat the donated food products. At the present time, the nonperishable food products are part of a CANstruction sculpture at the KVCC. Thank you again for your support and generosity.
